Unit 3 C2C Outline: Students listen to, view and interpret a range of literary texts, including poetry and rhymes to develop an understanding of sound and letter knowledge and identify common visual patterns.

How do these texts fit with C2C unit plans? These excellent texts are appropriate for engaging beginner readers, as they include colourful illustrations and simple rhyme, while encouraging respect for own and other cultures.

Students will: listen to the stories about how Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander concepts of time and weather patterns explain how things happen. *Suitable Texts:

PREP YEAR –SEMESTER 2- ENGLISH & SOSE UNITS 4

Unit 4 C2C Outline: Students will have multiple opportunities to explore a range of texts, including the oral narrative traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; contemporary literature of these two cultural groups; and classic and contemporary world literature, including texts from and about Asia.

How do these texts fit with C2C unit plans? These texts include a combination of traditional & contemporary narratives, with simple structures, to support students when retelling and expressing thoughts & ideas about a text.
