Our Kiwi mats retain the original siapo mat design of a grid of squares containing a geometrical pattern, but has been made more versatile through the modern use of recycled materials. The kiwi bird is synomous with New Zealand culture. The kiwi is a flightless bird that has it's roots in Maori myths and legend. Today there are only around 72,500 kiwis left in New Zealand, many living freely in the South Island of New Zealand. Kiwi's are nocturnal and forage for food under leaves in the New Zealand bush feeding on earthworms, fruit, seeds and funghi and they have been known to snack on freshwater crayfish and eels at times too. "Kiwi" is also a common term to identify New Zealanders and it is this connection that has inspired us to create this true iconic "Kiwi" mats for your use.

The beauty of these mats don't just lie in it's visual appeal though. Being made from a durable recycled-plastic means our siapo mats are completely child-friendly, making them ideal for child care centres, schools and high traffic children's areas in the home. This product is reversible, meaning 2 different colour patterns on each side, ie green and white on one side and white with green on the other

All our products have been made to the best attainable standards from UV treated recycled polypropylene. We make no assertions on the longevity of the product as there are too many variables including care, exposure to continuous direct sunlight, contact with abrasive cleaners etc

PLEASE NOTE - Due to size of this product a minimum shipping surcharge applies to all deliveries of $5 per mat

Please also note that although these mats are wonderful to use outside, we do not suggest that are left outside in direct and permanent sun and rain full time due to high UV exposure
